ANALISIS KESULITAN SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR DALAM MEMBACA WAKTU PADA JAM ANALOG DAN DIGITAL

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis jenis dan faktor penyebab kesulitan siswa sekolah dasar dalam membaca waktu pada jam analog dan digital. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan survei diagnostik. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 87 siswa kelas III dan IV dari tiga sekolah dasar negeri di Kota Medan. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes diagnostik membaca waktu, lembar observasi, dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa (72,3%) mengalami kesulitan dalam membaca posisi jarum menit pada jam analog, dan 78,6% mengalami kesulitan dalam mengkonversi format waktu 24 jam pada jam digital. Faktor utama penyebab kesulitan meliputi: (1) pemahaman konsep waktu yang masih abstrak, (2) minimnya paparan terhadap jam analog di lingkungan sehari-hari, dan (3) metode pembelajaran yang belum optimal. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan media konkret berbasis manipulatif serta pendekatan kontekstual dalam pembelajaran matematika untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca waktu siswa sekolah dasar.
