Tingginya angka kejadian penyakit menular dan tidak menular di Indonesia mendorong perlunya pendekatan berbasis masyarakat untuk promosi kesehatan. Gerakan Masyarakat Hidup Sehat (GERMAS) merupakan program pemerintah yang menekankan peran serta aktif masyarakat dalam mewujudkan perilaku hidup sehat. Program ini diimplementasikan di Desa Tanoh Megakhe, Kecamatan Badar, Aceh Tenggara dengan pendekatan partisipatif melalui pemanfaatan pekarangan rumah untuk budidaya sayur kangkung dan buah pepaya. Kegiatan ini melibatkan kelompok dasawisma dan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas fisik serta konsumsi buah dan sayur rumah tangga. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan antusiasme masyarakat dalam pelaksanaan senam rutin dan budidaya tanaman rumah tangga. Masyarakat mulai menunjukkan perubahan perilaku ke arah hidup sehat. Kegiatan ini juga berhasil membentuk kelompok dasawisma baru bernama "Mentari". Pendampingan berkelanjutan menjadi kunci dalam menjaga keberlanjutan program.
